“Howe” I will always remember NHL All-Star Game

How exciting is it to be a San Jose Sharks hockey fan! Sharks fan have had the opportunity to be a part of the 2015 NHL Stadium Series, the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals and now the NHL All-Star Game returns to the Shark Tank at the SAP Center in San Jose!

The San Jose Sports Authority are extremely thankful to the National Hockey League for selecting San Jose to host the 2019 NHL All-Star game, home of the best fans in the league. The San Jose Sports Authority and the San Jose Sharks are thrilled to partner with the NHL to welcome the hockey world to the Capital of Silicon Valley for an incredible week of celebrating the sport of hockey.

We hope you can take the time to visit downtown San Jose and see how Plaza de Cesar Chavez and the Circle of Palms have been transformed to a hockey fantasy land! From the amazing display of the giant NHL All-Star Player pucks illuminated throughout the Plaza, or to take a selfie in front to the NHLALLSTARS art display or to be a kid again and lace-up a pair of skates to glide on the ice under the palm trees at our spectacular NHL All-Star Downtown Ice rink … there is something for everyone to create a unique and memorable experience of the NHL All-Star Week in San Jose.

I was fortunate to attend the 1997 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose. As memorable as the game was with our very own Owen Nolan scoring a hat-trick with his incredible “called shot” to beat Dominik Hasek, nothing can top the thrill for me than when I arrived at my seat to see Mr. Hockey himself, Gordie Howe, in the seat directly in front of me! He was the most generous and gracious person you can meet, taking the time to greet everyone around him and shake your hand. As great as he was on the ice, he was even better off the ice … just like so many members of the San Jose Sharks.

I hope you enjoy all the NHL has to offer this week in San Jose and I look forward to hearing of your memorable moment!
Thank you for your support!
The NHL's mid-season showcase at SAP Center will include the NHL All-Star Skills Competition at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 25 and the NHL All-Star Game at 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 26.
