Plaque Location: SAP Center, Section 106

A graduate of Campbell High School, Morton was a stand-out performer at every level of competition.  An All-American quarterback at Cal, he was chosen by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1965 NFL draft.  He made his first Superbowl appearance with the Cowboys in 1970.  He returned to the spotlight in 1977, when he led the Denver Broncos to their first ever Super Bowl.  Morton’s performance that season, 1929 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, earned him the American Football Conferences’ MVP and the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year.

A member of the College Football Hall of Fame, he was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
