A native of San Jose and a two-time Olympian, Chow was a member of the first U.S. women’s team to win an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics. Chow first competed for the United States in 1992. But she achieved international fame as a member of what became known as the “Magnificent 7” – the U.S. women’s championship team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games – at which she also won an individual silver medal. Four years later she returned to the Olympics in Sydney. 

A gymnast of uncommon perseverance and skill, Chow was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
