Throughout her storied career Tara VanDerveer established herself as one of basketball’s top collegiate and international coaches.  An ambassador for Stanford University and the sport of women’s basketball, VanDerveer was among the sport’s pioneers and entering the 2013-14 season had won 891 games, 22 conference championships and two NCAA championships.  In 1996, VanDerveer led the USA National Team to a 66-0 record and a gold medal at the Atlanta Olympic Games. She was honored as 1996 USA Basketball Coach of the Year and in 2011 was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

In 2013, Tara VanDerveer was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame.
