NFL MVP and Pro Bowl Receiver

A graduate of Campbell High School and San Jose State, he became one of the San Francisco 49ers greatest players.  He was drafted by the 49ers in 1950 where he earned six consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl, and was named the game’s MVP in 1955.  After spending 10 seasons in San Francisco, he retired in 1960, with 5,902 receiving yards, 49 touchdowns and led the NFL in pass receptions three times.  In 1986 he was chosen as a wide receiver on the all-time 49er team of the first 40 years.

A football legend, Wilson was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2003.
