Kristi Yamaguchi’s first U.S. championship victory was as a pairs skater with Rudy Galindo in 1986. After switching to singles skating, she won a gold medal in the 1992 Winter Olympics and World Championships in 1991 and 1992. The U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Famer also founded the Always Dream Foundation in support of children’s organizations in the Bay Area.
