Dave and Mark Schultz defined a generation of wrestling in the . They were the first brothers in  history to win Olympic titles at the same Olympic Games (1984 Los Angeles Summer Games), and are the only brothers in  history to win both Olympic and World championships. The Schultz brothers combined to win more NCAA, World, and Olympic titles than any American brother combination in history. Dave won an NCAA championship in 1982, and Mark won NCAA titles in 1981, 1982, and 1983. Dave won a total of 10 Senior National titles (eight Freestyle, two Greco-Roman) over 19 years.  Internationally, he won five World Cup and two Pan American Games titles. Mark captured four national Freestyle titles, two World championships, a Pan American gold medal and a mixed martial arts victory.

Dave and Mark Schultz were inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
