San Jose’s rich minor league baseball history had no greater exemplar than Mark Wilson. During his 38 years with the San Jose Giants organization, including 30 seasons as general manager, the team won six California League championships, developed more than 190 future Major Leaguers and created lifetime memories for generations of fans at Municipal Stadium.  An Ohio native, Wilson joined the franchise’s front office in 1982. He was twice named Cal League Executive of the Year. Under his guidance, the Giants received the John H. Johnson Award for Most Complete Minor League Organization. In 2020, the team retired jersey No. 38 as a tribute to Wilson’s time with the club.

Mark Wilson was inducted into the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame in 2025.
